Starling impressed me with its use of technology

Starling impressed me with its use of technology that made signing up easy and the everyday banking has been simple and secure. The only downside is the slow pace of development for easy savings tools and products that are already in market from various third parties. Reviewed on: 24th January 2026

Tech savvy favourite

I like the origin story of Starling and it feels like a modern bank vs all the old school Goliath’s. It’s very tech savvy which means the app is super intuitive with regular helpful updates. One of my favourite features is ‘spaces’ where I can set different saving pots. They’re not just saving pots. They suggest clever ways to do it like per transaction saving or monthly. I love Starling Bank's app which has enabled me to set up limited saving spaces which has helped me stay on track with every single payment I make throughout the year. It reminds me if a bill is coming up and I can allocate a saving space to pay an individual bill from. This has helped me acquire finance hygiene, mental clarity and emotional calm around my money.
