Review of the Starling Bank, Current Account:

Excellent app, fair fees, modern but a REAL bank

I've been using Starling as my main account for 5 years or so. I'm happy to be with a forward-looking bank whose service just works, every day of the week (no strange delays or transaction dates at weekends), but lets you pay in cheques (by photo) and cash (at the Post Office) for those occasional needs. I've had very little trouble though have contacted by in-app chat (and once by phone, when both my card and phone were stolen) and was happy with the service. App features such as Spaces and multiple accounts for contacts have been mainstays for years and other banks are only just starting to catch up to some of them. Together with entirely fee-free abroad usage (no limits) and in-credit interest recently bumped, I'm happy that Starling give a generous offering, great control of my finances, and everything I could expect from a traditional bank when I need it.
