Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Complete Satisfaction

When going online everything was easy to understand every step of the way. I scanned all relevant documents and StepChange consultant contacted me for a telephone appointment. Breath of fresh air

I struggled to get in contact with someone to help my finances due to being worried and I'm glad I did the jump! Every staff member I spoke with were friendly understanding and non judgemental. Everything was explained to me perfectly and simple. Quick and straightforward. I now have a weight off my shoulders and the whole process.. a breath of fresh air so I can now breathe clearly! My time speaking to people at Step Change

Worried myself to actually being sick! So very nervous an scared to call as until I broke many bones I was a manager earning much more than now pips/pension But I need not have worried cus each person I spoke an cruel to were so very lovely and kind to me They actually made my self esteem grow so I didn’t feel worthless bout asking for help! Really don’t know how I would be now if hadn’t called them!
