Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Step change helped me get my life back

Step change helped me get my finances and life back on track, they took the burden off me and tailored me a plan that was affordable. T he advisors were so understanding and knowledgeable can't thank them enough. After a few months of being with step change I fell on more hardship so I contacted them and explained my situation, the simply just adjusted my plan until my situation improved. Stepchange helped me feel in control. My debt was causing me so much stress, they never judged me and set up an easy plan for me to follow. Calling each time and getting someone different was sometimes a hurdle but generally everyone was very helpful. I am now on my way to being debt free, which is the best feeling ever. At a difficult time in your life you need an empathetic company like stepchange to help guide you through the minefield, that is debt management. With their help i was able to minimise my stress and negotiate a manageable mo thly repayment. I am now debt free and have been able to rebuild my credit rating.
