I was going mad constantly worrying about money. I'm disabled and at times wanted to end it all. My friend told me of stepchange (we'd never had money problems before, but after work drying up and income becoming less and less we found ourselves in a terrible situation). StepChange - a life saver

In 2007 I was drowning in debt. I couldn't see anyway out until I contacted StepChange (then Consumer Credit Counselling Service). I cannot praise them highly enough. Although I still have debt it is stable and since 2007 my anxiety is far lower. The advisors are kind, friendly, understanding and extremely helpful. Their website is easy to navigate too. My husband was made redundant twice in two years!

My husband was made redundant twice in two years! The last time he was made redundant at the end of the month two days before payday and obvs no wages paid. It was a very stressful time we were depressed. I had two small children and it was also 9 months before our (unpaid) wedding. My parents told me about stepchange and along with their help an the help from my family we were able to come to an arrangement with creditors very quickly and I slept properly for the first time in weeks and when I woke I didn’t have that massive sinking feeling.
