Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Guide To Deal With My Debts

Step Change Debt Charity is an organisation that give you free debt advice. I do not need to pay to get good debt advice, which l really appreciate. StepChange Debt Charity are life savers when you are in financial difficulties and they give good advice when you cannot keep up your payments with your creditors due to circumstances which have occurred in your life, e.g. not able to work because of illness, lost your job etc. The creditors would like to know how you are going to deal with situation. That is when l contacted StepChange Debt Charity to help me with the right advice. I have had good advice and I'm still getting help from StepChange Debt Charity as I'm not yet fit to go be to work. StepChange Debt Charity is one of the best debt advisors, I wouldn't hesitate to introduce my family and friends when situation like mine arise. Reviewed on: 12th May 2026

Great advice from StepChange they were on my side

I lost my job and got into quite a bit of debt on my credit cards. I then struggled to find work due to ill health. I was being put under a lot of pressure from the credit cards providers. I turned to StepChange and they took that stress away and I immediately felt I was not alone and someone was on my side for a change.
