Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Pick up the confidence and call..

It was so easy to sort once I picked up the confidence to call. You but my mind at easy and broken everything down to easy payments. It did take 23 years to pay back all my debts but I did it. With a budget plan I could afford. It was easy to change if my circumstances changed. Loved the online account. So I could see my dept decreasing every month. Also I could do my yearly review on there as well. But I knew if I was stuck with anything I call in person as well. Fantastic support would tell anyone to call for advice and help with step change 100% of the time. They will never judge you and make you feel there is no way out of dept eventually. I was in a desperate situation, with no clear way out.

I was in a desperate situation, with no clear way out. StepChange was recommended to me by one of my creditors. From the first few words on the telephone I felt there actually was a genuine light at the end of a very long, very dark tunnel. My only regret is that I didn't know sooner how helpful they could be. Took the worry away

I was worried who was knocking on my door for money or how I was going to live but step change helped took the worry away best thing I ever did was ring them now I know il be debt free in 2 yrs time. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

Step change saved my life, literally!
