Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

In 2018 I had 3 overdrafts to the limit 3 Loans and 3 credit cards to the limit whatever went into.m bank covered the last bill NOW IN 2026 ALTHOUGH I STILL have a time to go No overdrafts No loans . It hasn't been easy. But I have paid at least 2 full bills off step change are fabulous. Helped me go through all bills and helped each year with a review. They changed my life 5**

I was in a terrible financial state in 2007 and it was seriously impacting my mental health. I didn't see any light at all and then I bit the bullet and contacted Stepchange. They understood my situation completely and a massive weight was lifted from my shoulders. They guided me through the process of setting up a Debt Management Plan and my life was transformed. Helped me lift that dreadful weight of debt

I was feeling lost and afraid with no one and nowhere to turn to for help. I was recommended Step change. I nervously made the call to them that has saved my life and helped me to live again.. I have a budget to help clear my debts and have confidence that it's all affordable They took charge of everything and advised me of my options and checked I was completely comfortable with my chosen options and payments.
