Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Bad debts

Stepchange helped me through a very traumatic time in my life. I had bills to pay, a sick child and a wife that had to leave her job to look after our child which suddenly blew a huge hole in our finances. I could not sleep at night, tried getting another job and eventually got to a place where I contemplated horrible thoughts about ending it all. I do not even remember how I found Stepchange but I did and they supported me through the darkest moment in my adult life. Put a plan together and got on top of my debts and I could finally breathe again. They have made a huge difference in my life and truth be told, probably saved it.
