Review of the StepChange, Debt Management:

A step in the right direction, a change for good!

Following a very difficult divorce, I found myself swapped by mounting debts, which I was struggling to pay alone, despite my best efforts. This went on for some time, until I found out about Step-Change. I logged onto their website, but was struggling due to serious eyesight issues. I telephoned them, expecting to be chastised for my situation. This did not happen! The wonderful lady to whom I spoke could not have been more helpful and reassuring. One of the many things which I greatly appreciated was that not only was this lady extremely knowledgeable, but she fully listened to my concerns, and then patiently explained everything, spending quite some time going through my different options. Because of my eyesight issues, the lady offered to complete the paperwork/computer forms on my behalf, which I gratefully accepted. When the lady had all the information she needed, she ensured that the budget and plan suggested was achievable for me. I have suffered from serious depression for decades, and my financial situation was slowly pulling me in a negative direction. But at the end of the session, after speaking with that lady, I felt something I had not felt for a very long time. Hope. That is an incredibly very precious thing to give to someone. I have had cause to contact Step-Change a few times with queries, and they are always wonderfully helpful, and happy to assist. I honestly believe that I would not be here now, if not for all the kindness, advice, and support they have given me. And I know I am just one of many, many people who feel the same. Life changing decision to speak to step change

I had seen debt adverts for ages feeling scared but...

I had seen debt adverts for ages feeling scared but knowing deep down I needed help. I knew I needed to do something when I started taking out cash on my credit card to pay bills. StepChange are a life saver. They gave me excellent advice, talked me through every step and I’m now on a debt management plan with them. I feel about 10 stone lighter and like I can breathe for the first time in years. I make one payment every month that is split between my creditors.
