Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Makes everything clear

It was so easy to set up my Debt Management Plan with StepChange; a really friendly and supportive agent helped me go through everything and once I had completed my budget, an affordable amount was decided upon. I can contact them if there are any changes to my creditors' details and I keep an up-to-date budget to make sure I'm paying what I can afford. I went back to studying this year and they've helped so much with the change in my lifestyle and budget. Best thing I could of done!

I found myself in a really bad financial situation and not knowing where to turn next. After speaking with Stepchange they put my mind at ease, helping with my finances and realising what could actually afford for my debts. I can now sleep easy knowing that my debts are being paid paid monthly at an amount I can actually afford. I can't thank them enough for helping me turn my life around. Thank you Stepchange. A kind voice at the end of a phone..
