Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Step Change have help in every way possible to get me out of debt as fast as possible, I pay as much as I can physically afford and they deal with all the creditors, if you contacted by any just get in touch with them explain what's happening and they will do the rest, they understand your situation completely excellent to deal with Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

I was close to despair after a relationship breakdown which left me in debt, I contacted StepChange and had a really good phone conversation which allayed all my fears, breaking down my income and outgoings they really helped me create an affordable repayment scheme that has allowed me to actually live with some modicum of decency. All conversations have been very positive and informative, they regularly send emails to help me continue on my path to pay off my debts and all my payments are affordable, the companies I owe money to have obviously great respect for StepChange as all contact is between them and I have never received any demands which used to cause me some anxiety. All in all I cannot recommend StepChange highly enough, if you have any debt and are becoming anxious then don't hesitate to contact them, they treat you as a person and they do not judge you,. Ring Stepchange they’re great

Was reluctant at first, as I didn’t know there was such great help out there in the form of Step Change. Literal life savers.

Helped me out with no fuss. Customer service is fantastic, understood my issues and helped me every step of the way. They were very reassuring and compassionate. I don't think they understand the relief and mental help they gave me. I can't recommend them enough.
