Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I found been in debt a very depressing and confusing...

I found been in debt a very depressing and confusing experience, you look at different options to help but most companies are just wanting you to take out loans to ",clear your debts" with just one payment but reading the small print you are paying astronomical amounts of interest, In reality not a good option, this is where stepchange is different and unique, they offer a realistic solution and you aren't getting in more debt, from the first email or phone call they are helping you, advising the best options and solutions for your personal circumstances, a brilliant service, friendly, reassuring and extremely knowledgeable, don't delay speak with stepchange now and rest easy you are in safe hands Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Step Change helped us out of a very tight situation..

We came to Step Change in 2018 due to my husband being in hospital for 8 weeks and he is still not as he was but thank goodness for SC as we had to close our business and left with a pile of debt and did not know what to do. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

Very happy with the service from StepChange.

I have been working with StepChange for a few years now and they have been excellent in terms of taking on the responsibility of dealing with creditors and managing repayments as part of my debt management plan. They have taken a considerable amount of pressure away from me and have helped me no end.
