Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

My partner mental health was affected by Covid and couldn’t work for over two years with this, I struggled financially. Sleepless nights, etc after contacting step change within weeks they put a plan in place for me which is affordable and I haven’t looked back. Would recommend anybody. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

StepChange are extremely great in finding the right debt management plan. The only issue I had was waiting times for the call to be answered and their agents given different advice - it was not consistent and took me a long time running around getting documents I didn't need etc. However, everything ended well despite the little hiccup. I didnt know where to turn until I found out about stepchange I didn't realise they would be able to come up with a solution to my problems and although it's been a challenge at times we have stuck to it and in less than a year will be completely debt free it's hard to see a way out but there always is with stepchange I'd recommend them highly to anyone in debt.
