Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

A genuinely understanding and kind organisation

My whole experience with Step Change has been extremely positive. The process is very straightforward to set up and is like a huge weight being lifted. Also, as someone who suffers from anxiety, especially around money, I could not rate Step Change highly enough for their kindness and understanding when I mentioned this - they offered to put a note on my file so other advisers knew to bear this in mind when I call, which I was really happy to accept. I was depressed relationship was struggling and the weight on my shoulders was enormous, step change changed it all for me, even though I felt worthless they gave me hope and made me feel normal, paying back at a rate I could afford and 90% less worried don't think about it just contact them they are so nice and everything they do is personal centered.
