Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Back on track

Becoming a widow brought unexpected everything including debt! Stepchange helped me to stop the overwhelming stress and worry. They spoke to the credit card companies for me and arranged one easy affordable payment per month. I now feel i can start to rebuild my life which will take time but i am certainly heading in the right direction thanks to Stepchange Reviewed on: 27th May 2025

Just Do It!

Excellent support and helped to reduce all anxiety around debt. They have helped organise payments and deal with several companies to manage the payments. I was super anxious about taking the first step to getting support but they took all the steps to help manage that via email. I didn’t even need to speak over the phone as it was all done online. StepChange was totally understanding and very helpful, and made what was a very difficult and stressfull time much easier to manage. They gave good advice and assistance to manage the problem.
