Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I approached stepchange for help as I was in debt and didn’t know what to do. I was very close to entering into a Iva With a private company when after speaking with stepchange I soon realised that this company was in fact going to leave me in more debt. stepchange took everything off my hands after just one phone call going through all my debts and expenditures. I had fallen behind with my bills

I had fallen behind with my utilities. I was referred to stepchange. Their online application was straight forward and easy to fill in. The follow up help online and over the phone was friendly and helpful. I am now in a better place financially. They have made arrangements with my creditors for lower monthly payments. They worked out a budget for me even with allowance for a bit of savings every month. In debt and in need of help don't hesitate to contact stepchange, and get your life back on track. Your organisation and people that work there are most amazing people with a good heart. You are changing people’s life. You are showing people ( families, olders , young ) don’t give up , there is way out of this situation.
