Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

StepChange helped me get my life back in order. Without them I don’t think I would have been here much longer. I was in such a bad way with financial problems I couldn’t see a way out and StepChange helped me with a solution and got me on a plan that meant I could actually have a life and still manage my debts. From day one, after talking through everything with stepchange and realising there was a resolution, it felt like a huge weight had been lifted. Helped to ease the worries of debt but contacting creditors on my behalf and now only having to make one monthly payment to Stepchange who then forward divided debt to send to the creditors.
