Step Change have been an amazing and practical support

I was totally stressed out and at a loss with what to do about my debt. I didn’t think I qualified for help but I was so wrong and wish I’d made the call sooner. The first level of support when I called Step Change was emotional support, they were so caring and took the weight off my shoulders and then continued to support me with the practical steps to resolving my debt overwhelm. Within weeks I had a plan set up, they’ve taken care of everything and I am left feeling in control of my finances, I’m saving a little each month and living within my means. I know exactly when I’ll be debt free and I no longer feel anxious or guilty about my financial situation. An amazing supportive and practical service, they deserve a big THANK YOU. Excellent Service

I don’t know where I would have been without Step Change. After my husband started having blackouts and was unable to work, we found ourselves not able to pay our debt. One in a million!

A charity that’s a life saver! I couldn’t have wished for a more helpful service with the most understanding and supportive staff. They talked me through every aspect of my debt management, showing me there was a way out and I wasn’t alone. There was no judgement at all, just understanding and positivity that they could help me through one of the most difficult times in my life. I felt so disheartened and sad as though my world had ended before I rang them, now I feel in control and can see a way out. It will take me a long time to be debt free but at least I’m one step closer now and managing my money effectively, knowing help and encouragement is at the end of a phone if I need it. No hows and whys just focused on getting you back on track

Great service I thought there was no we’re to turn when things got out of hand with loans and cards that were manageable until interest rates went up then I found struggling every month to make ends meet.. phoned up step change they guided me trough everything helped with my finances and worked out what I could afford to pay and contacted all debtors for me telling them I was in financial difficulties and that I were willing to pay what I owed but it would be less than requested and over a slightly longer time frame now it’s just one payment a month to step change a month and they distribute payments on my behalf great service strongly recommend now I’m back to my usual self. it saved my sanity

i have lots of health things wrong with me and i got myself in a lot of debt.when i got in touch with step change,i filled a form in,and my acc was set up and running very quickly.it felt like a huge weight had lifted from my whole body. i have thought about the state i was in with my finances,and realised that my problem started with my parents.being 1 of 8 children,we were brought up with debts.it was just the way it was in that era.that was my teaching about debt and how to manage it.i dont blame my parents for my debts,that is down to me.i wonder how many more adults in debt,have thought about where the majority of things start while they were just kids.we learn from our parents.i think thats worth a study,maybe. step change defo changed my life.they are amazing.peace to all.x Reviewed on: 8th July 2023
