I am extremely disappointed with Tesco Bank Insurance.

I am extremely disappointed with Tesco Bank Insurance. After being a loyal driver with 12 years of No Claims Discount (NCD), I made a claim following an unfortunate accident. Not only did they significantly undervalue my car when processing the claim, but they also slashed my NCD from 12 years down to just 3 years! This feels incredibly unfair and unprofessional, especially as I’ve never had a claim in over a decade. Their customer service is unhelpful, and they seem more interested in taking money than providing fair and transparent services to their customers. I expected much better from a well-known insurance provider. If you’re considering insuring your car with Tesco Bank Insurance, think twice—there are much better options out there that value customer loyalty and offer fairer claims processes. Con Artists!!!!

My partners car was hit in a hit and run. Described the damage which was minimal and they said it was a write off! Told them we want an engineers report (which they didn't say would cost us and they would charge for storage) and the gent who picked it up turned round and said he been told to take it 100 miles away to a scrap dealer? Spoke to them again and MATT's answer was 'I've been doing this job for years, I know a write off'. Admitted he wasn't a trained mechanic and then tried telling me a scrap dealer wouldn't be bias in their opinion! My partner asked for her car back and he tried telling her she had to pick it up herself and they wouldn't be following up on the hit and run driver because we took the car back! My partner has legal insurance so you have to ask what is the point of that! I have been driving for years and never have I come across such poor and rude customer service. No empathy and no understanding of someone who has just been involved in a hit and run. DO NOT USE TESCO WHATEVER YOU DO!!! Reviewed on: 30th June 2018

Roadside recovery - will take you 10 MILES ONLY. Anything over and you pay full recovery. 10 miles will take you from the middle of nowhere to the middle of nowhere! Take out separate cover! Reviewed on: 20th June 2018

I had a car insurance and they later asked for NCB, I had given it to them but got a call saying that the policy will have to be cancelled coz you did not insure your car when I had been on vacation and had no sorn on the car. I had taken a insurance for short time from other company which I told but got a call back again that the insurance that you got does not have no claim bonus so your insurance goes to zero and will increase in your insurance. Please don’t use this insurance from Tesco as they a total rip off and rude. Reviewed on: 14th June 2018

Insurance went up over £200 even though i have never made a claim was told to cancel my insurance and apply again then it will be a lot cheaper. There is no loyallty to there customers. Whent elsewhere and saved £295. Reviewed on: 10th June 2018

I've used Tesco Bank a few years ago for a loan and they were great. Since having my car insurance its been terrible and I will not be using them again. Fees every time you call (£25) to change something and a £40 cancellation fee for them to push a button on the computer? I couldn't solve my problems via online so had to call - I think they are quite clever choosing what can be done online and what can't to get extra revenue! Reviewed on: 6th June 2018

Avoid Tesco car Insurance for young drivers with black box..... they lie add on milesto gain more money from you (car broken down for a month so we have proof) and they have very unprofessional people working on the online chat. They are rude and will add on charges with no explanation and if you challenge them they contradict everything they say ! Absolute jokers... worse company ever!! Go anywhere else scaming people out of their hard earned money

At first things seemed good till i tried to change my car insurance over for my partner for her new car by which we rang and only bought the car because of the quote we was given, we was told their would be transfer fee of £88 which we understood called back after buying the car and their was a further £350 on top of the £88 we argued this matter we didnt insure the new car, we then got told they would investigate after half an hour a lady called us back saying they will uphold what we was told as we was correct so we paid, about a week later we got letters and ph9ne calls saying we still owe them everything nothing was sorted or taken off absolute scammers we raised a complaint didnt even get to talk to any1 to have our say except we recieved a letter saying they have investigated by asking their team!! What an utter joke we could however raise the matter with ombudsman services which the letter gave us the details it did however state that they would not comply with anything from ombudsman nor have their permission to investigate any off their records or anything about our complaint,this company is a joke and the team clearly do not know what they are doing nore talking about take your custom else where somewhere that actually appreciates its customers and owns up to a mistake this overall experience cost us a grand total of over £6000 after buying a car aswell under their recommendation about our insurance price p.s also tried lieing saying it was a different car we was quoted another 1 of their mistakes Reviewed on: 3rd May 2018
