By far, this is one of the worst banking services I have ever used. My experience has been poor from the start. They had the audacity to keep incoming payments pending due to internal processes, although I had provided the required information multiple times to multiple advisors. This resulted in financial implications for me as an individual. The worst part came last week when I realized I was completely unable to make any payments. My funds are currently inaccessible—no card payments, no transfers to my personal account, and no ability to pay invoices. Thousands of pounds are stuck, and I have been chasing this issue with multiple advisors for the past four days. It turns out that the team supposedly responsible for resolving this only works Monday to Friday. At no point have I been given a timeline for when I can expect this to be resolved, nor have I received a clear explanation as to why it happened. The only response I get from agents is that they are "chasing it for me." Furthermore, I now risk late payment fees, as I have been unable to move funds from my business account with Tide to cover direct debits linked to my personal account. This situation is completely unnecessary and unethical. It is unacceptable for a financial institution entrusted with business accounts to fail its customers this way. Reviewed on: 3rd February 2025

Left me and children hungry and business closed

I am a small business owner and mother to 7 children, tide has paused my account for no reason, will not call me, the replies by the chat are copy and pasted scripts. Made a complaint which was upheld however still waiting for them to unpause my account. They have left me and my young children without access to money and unable to trade. Very very poor service! Expect continuous audits of every transaction you make

Tide continuously audits customers, requesting contracts and receipts for every single transaction conducted in the last few months. Unless you have a significant in-house finance team to deal with these constant queries, suggest you avoid. Reviewed on: 29th January 2024

Horrendous customer service

Ive had nothing but problems with this company since i opened a bank with them in 2023. But most recently they are just USELESS!!! Messaged about an unauthorised payment and straight away they froze my account leaving me unable to pay my bills or rent. Over a 93p payment. Then the woman i was speaking to just stopped responding. I got a reply from someone else saying i had to order a new card, so basically rather than helping me they let the payment come out anyway, dint adress the actual issue, ive had other payments declined because they froze my account and had to order a new card and wait for it it come then ill have to update all my accounts with this new card. But better than that they now say if you want support or replies from customer service you have to pay an extra 9.99 a month... so basically you cant speak to anyone and if you actually need help you have to upgrade your account again and pay even more. Pause & closed my account without any explanation.

They paused my account without any explanation. It has now been closed with no explanation. I have had an email to say give me your account details and we will send you the money in the account less fees within 7 days. I emailed my details along with a copy of a bank statement of the bank account I want them to put the money in. I emailed for an explanation to which they replied I need to log into my account (which they closed that I no longer have access to) to speak to them in chat??????? I replied to ask how I do this when I cant access it anymore and the email reply was "in the chat we have asked for your bank details so please reply to this email with them." I have already sent a copy, what shambles they are??? I have lost business, customers have wanted their money back which I couldn't give them as they paused my account so the customer reported us for fraud and slander us all over social media, (we told the customer they would have their money back in full once this sorry state of affairs had been sorted with tide but this wasn't good enough so they insisted on fraud & slanderous accusations, we have proof they we agreed to a full refund once the account problems had been sorted). I will be reporting this to the police and financial ombudsman. STAY AWAY from this bank. They will take your money and never return it. As someone said before, your business and livelihood will be ruined if you bank with these thieves. Our Christmas and New Year was ruined as I wasn't able to work or make any money. It is criminal, we are trying to do what we can to pay bills but we are now in debt because of this and our business is ruined. Reviewed on: 10th January 2024

I am disappointed with Tide Bank's service.

I am disappointed with Tide Bank's service. I've been attempting to open a bank account and order a POS system for my fast-food startup for two months. Despite submitting all requested documents, I face daily requests for the same evidence. They persistently refuse to grant me a bank account, creating unnecessary hurdles for my business. It's incredibly frustrating, and it seems they are uninterested in supporting startups, despite my earnest efforts and compliance with their requirements. I would caution others to consider alternative banking options with more efficient and supportive processes. Reviewed on: 10th January 2024

Worst bank account

Worst service I ever had.Tide made a payment to someone without me consent.When I contacted tide they replied that the third party showed us invoice.If someone show invoice will tide pay them without account holder permission??anyone know where to complain and what to do any help will be really appreciated thank you.
