There is a hypocritical £3 a month charge (fair fee)

There is a £3 a month fee for the current account unlike most other current accounts. The reason Triodos bank states it does this is... There is a £3 a month fee for the current account unlike most other current accounts. The reason Triodos bank states it does this is so that it is a “fair fee” to make the bank fairer for financially vulnerable customers who may acquire overdraft charges. However if you are a customer with no money in your current account the fee will result in a un-arranged overdraft. This seems counter to Triodos “fair fee” reasoning, this hypocritical fee results in financially vulnerable customers being pushed unknowingly into a overdraft. Read more Read less

    I love what TRIODOS makes my money work for

    I like the communications I get from TRIODOS about what my money is being invested in, which is really important to me, and makes me... I like the communications I get from TRIODOS about what my money is being invested in, which is really important to me, and makes me proud to bank with them. They communicate changes to interest rates and terms of agreement in user-friendly language, with helpful summaries. They have made a lot of improvements to their services over the past year or so, including improved functionality of the app, such as digital reversible card freezes. Read more Read less

    Easy to contact and speak to Triodos.

    It's straightforward to contact Triodos and speak to someone with knowledge, and my experience of this was very positive.

    There is a monthly fee for this account (£3). So it is a "no brainer" that it is poor value when other current accounts are... There is a monthly fee for this account (£3). So it is a "no brainer" that it is poor value when other current accounts are free. Except that the £3 means Triodos don't need to penalise you if you become overdrawn. Also, it is the gateway you need to access their other products. The staff are helpful.and kind. The website is a bit cranky for some products, but those that are available via the app are the best for people with sight loss that I've found. Read more Read less
