Excellent and thoughtfully managed credit card.

I’ve had my Vanquis card for over two years. It’s very easy to manage. New transactions and payment information are clearly explained. The app is excellent and I’ve had no problem getting through to customer service. I’ve had issues with overspending and credit limits are thoughtfully monitored to limit risk. A fantastic card for building a credit score!

A fantastic card for building a credit score, of which I have held for a number of years now, and it can be and has been used in counties all around the UK and the world. A very good interest rate to start, and then once established for a couple of years the rate was reduced to be more competitive and easier on my monthly payments Reviewed on: 3rd May 2025

Ease of use

It was really easy to apply for the card online. I got the credit limit I applied for. The app makes it easy to manage the card. I was able to set up a direct debit to pay off the balance every month with just a few clicks. And I have to mention, although this may not be important to everyone, I like the design of the digital card as well. I also like the fact that I could easily add the card to Apple Pay - some of my other credit cards still don't have this feature. Reviewed on: 3rd May 2025

Good Starter Card, Limited Long-Term Value

I used Vanquis for my first credit card and overall, it served its purpose well. It was a good starting point for building my credit history, and getting accepted helped me establish a solid lending record early on. Customer service was always helpful in my experience, and the app was straightforward to use. However, I found it quite difficult to get credit limit increases, even with consistent use and keeping my utilisation below 25%. Over time, I moved on to other credit cards that offered higher credit limits, cashback, and more flexible features like 0% APR pay-in-three options. Vanquis was a useful first step, but for those with growing credit scores, other cards may offer more competitive benefits. Still, I appreciate how it helped me get started.
