Needs a banking app, and Apple/ Google Pay

The only faults are the bank needs to make an APP as it is long winded loging into a website every time. Also would be more practical with APPLE PAY / GOOGLE PAY set up. Please look into asap, only negative so far. Reviewed on: 14th December 2018

The wrost bank and customer service ever!

The worst customer service ever. Real-time waisters! To get through to customer service you have to wait for at least 30 min on the phone (!) and then they can't help you with anything. I was misled for a month calling them several times and was given different answers every single time just to at the end find out that they can't actually help me. Have they told me that with my first call, I would have switched straight away to a different bank, not wasting weeks! The whole thing seemed very suspicious - like they were changing their internal rules while having these conversations with me. The wost bank I came across in the UK so far! Application for 2nd card ridiculously bureaucratic

Opened account as I fly to USA regularly and so wanted to collect points for flights. Needed 2nd card for husband. We have been married for 20 years and lived at same address. Have joint cards with Amex and mortgage etc. on the electoral roll and both gave good credit ratings. They want you to send your passport and driving license or verified copy signed by civil servant, actuary etc. done all that despite time consuming and over the top. They didn’t need that info for me to open the card account for myself so why is it needed fir additional card holder? Now claim not good enough quality copy so need additional or original docs. 20 mins on phone to find this out. Done with it now. Not worth it. Taken off my Apple Pay and will stop using the account. Virtually impossible to cancel 'lost' card

Now been on the phone for over 30 minutes - just trying to cancel a lost card. Waiting for 'security' to answer the phone. Prevoius two operators were unable to help. Reviewed on: 11th June 2023

Very helpful with cost of living

Virgin Money has been very helpful with helping me to manage my money and providing useful resources. I had money troubles due to the cost of living and unfortunately I found it difficult to make repayments - however all staff was very useful and gave me a variety of options to make repayment easier Reviewed on: 2nd June 2023

Abysmal

Completed online closure of my account. Received an email saying it wasn't possible to do it as it had an outstanding balance EVEN though it was clearly showing NIL. Completed another form again yesterday and submitted it again online. I want confirmation so I did online chat... 53 people ahead of me waiting to be answered... As repeatedly quoted this is the quickest way to resolve your queries?!!!!!! Rang to speak to an adviser, I after several menus and 7 minutes later I was informed the quickest way to resolve my request was via the credit card app!! The call was then dropped. Increasingly frustrating.. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND. Appalling the way customers are treated. Richard Branson... Please take note... Reviewed on: 2nd June 2023

Excellent service staff & efficient

Virgin have been excellent and although switched to them and now not internet free they have never let me down when I needed the security of a card abroad or at home and customer service, the app and speaking with them, I can’t fault them. Reviewed on: 2nd June 2023
