Just godawful.

Just godawful. Consistently on hold for at least 40 mins. One alert where they asked me to contact them. After over an hour on hold, I gave up and tried another number. They looked at the account and said there was nothing wrong - although they verified that the alert had indeed come from them. Then online account was blocked - again, spent ages on hold on a Sunday when their hours were showing as open. But then it had to be referred to another department and they weren't open until Monday. So tried again on Monday and got everything resolved in about 5 mins - but was on hold for 45 mins to get there. So many problems with their new system. I really hope they get this sorted soon because it's a miserable experience having to deal with their very inaccessible customer support and appalling wait times. Reviewed on: 15th August 2022

Incredibly poor application process and customer service

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Really disappointed with the customer service my fiancee and I received in trying to apply for a joint M plus savings account. We applied online, had issues with the application not registering postcodes and also not processing my fiancee's application alongside my own but rather creating a completely new seperate application although it was activated through the joint link that was sent to us via email. Then over a month on from this not being registered we had several phonecalls to Virgin Money, being held on hold for hours only to finally have the application completed for my fiancee over the phone. There was then radio silence for another 3-4 weeks only to call up again today and be told by one assistant that there is a problem with the application that the sales team will fix on our behalf. Then to wait on hold for another hour to be told that the there is nothing the team can do and that we have to reapply again from scratch. Zero communication to us throughout the time when there was issues with the account, staff tried to push the application along but only when we put pressure on through calls to only be put back to square one and not have an account set up by the end of this process. The final customer service rep, offered no support in investigating what the cause of the issue was or how long we had been struggling with this process. Awful bank - just playing at it !!

I wouldn't trust these clowns with a custard pie, let alone your hard earned money. After being an existing customer and trying to open a new account I was told on three separate occasions that the account was being processed by administration, on my 4th call i asked how did they know it was being processed, the reply - because we have asked it to. I questioned who have you asked, the person didn't know, I asked which department deals with new account processing, the person didn't know, i asked what is the name of your supervisor, the person didn't know, I asked if they were currently in an office, they said they were and it was in Clysebank. I asked if the building was on fire, who would sound the alarm and what would they do to escape, they didn't know? I asked who is the CEO of Virgin Bank, they didn't know. AND THESE ARE THE PEOPLE DEALING WITH YOUR MONEY. Get real Virgin, stick to flying planes and air baloons and let proper trained bankers handle money!! Reviewed on: 13th May 2022

Cannot login, nobody at Virgin Money answering phone.

Abysmal experience over and over again. No matter how carefully I enter details I seemingly get locked out. To unlock I need to use an 0800 number but nobody at Virgin is picking up the telephone. Do not waste your time with this so called bank. It is still not clear how I am going to empty the account before closing it!!! Reviewed on: 7th April 2022

Virgin money computer systems do not work

Loads of problems with the app and website etc. Numerous phone calls and no-one can help and they don't know how to fix it. They keep saying they're having technical problems for the past 24 hours. I told them I've had issues for the past 2 months but they can't resolve them. Avoid I'm changing banks. Reviewed on: 27th March 2022

INTERNET ACCOUNT THAT CANNOT BE OPERATED ON INTERNET

My M Plus account has been blocked for the last three days. Have rung them five times no help by rude, unprofessional uneducated staff who does not have a clue about what they are talking about and have been lied to, at times during the conversation have held the phone for over 40 minutes, can't get any money out to buy food wish to close the account but not able to as the account has been blocked You ring and speak to staff who cannot do anything as the account has been blocked. wish I had never heard of Virgin Money Please Please stay well away from this bank as it is really not a bank - opened an internet bank account - cannot operate the account via internet Had enough - will have to go to a branch to close the accounts hoping that there are no further problems created by Virgin my request to all is to close their accounts by transferring to other high street banks Reviewed on: 27th October 2021
