The absolute worst car insurance company ever

Admiral insurance are awful. My wife had a small knock for knock accident and had lots of calls telling her to claim for injuries etc, that she didn't have then trying to get her a hire car and didn't pay out for any of the damage as she couldn't get in contact with them. No contact what so ever so we paid it all our selves. Over £1000. They are scammers so DONT use them Reviewed on: 4th December 2022

Worst insurance, stay away

One of their customers caused and accident that got my car wrote off, I have been trying to get in contact with them to sort everything out and make things cheaper for them but it’s useless. The claims team is so rude they hung the phone up on me while I was talking to them, they are very rude and they don’t help at all. Stay away. Reviewed on: 30th November 2022

ISSUED A DEFAULT NOTICE AFTER THEY REFUNDED ME FOR CANCELLING A POLICY WITH NO COMMUNICATION

Cancelled a policy with them and they processed a refund. Thought that was the end of it how wrong i was, received a default on my credit file dated th 24th November 2022 from admiral, so i rang them and they stated i owed the £237.40 so i questioned the refund there words it was our mistake. So a letter arrives 29th November asking for payment this letter is the first communication with them dated the 24th November, the very day they put a default on my credit file DUE TO THERE MISTAKE BE VERY VERY CAREFUL Reviewed on: 29th November 2022

Unethical company and I felt so bullied by them

When I took up the car insurance last year, there was no option to opt out from the auto renewal. This year I wanted to move to another insurer as I got offered a significantly lower quote. I was sent the auto renewal notice but there was no way to stop the auto renewal unless I call them which I did. It took so long just for the call to go through. Then before I was allowed to cancel, they asked me so many many questions and personal details that I found unnecessary. Such a was of time and invasion of personal information. They said they cannot cancel my auto renewal unless they get these informations from me. I felt so bullied and the entire experience was just horrible. Such a waste of my time too. Forever on the phone

AVOID ADMIRAL

Where do I start. I got an online quote which I was happy with however wanted to call them to discuss a whether a no claims experience (business fleet policy) counted towards no claims bonus (It doesn't!) for a new personal car policy. The call handler Sheena from Halifax Canada asked if I had ever made a claim I said no, however slipped that my business had a no fault claim as a lorry driver hit the parked vehicle. Parked vehicle! I.e nobody was inside the vehicle, there was no personal injury and no damage to the lorry. Anyhow, apparently because I was the last person to drive the vehicle ADMIRAL want more money from me. An additional 13%!! In fairness Sheena handled the call extremely well, allowing me to indulge in a rant against Admiral and insurance in general. 5 stars awarded to her. I personally don't believe her assessment is correct that I should be penalised for a parked business vehicle that has been side swiped by lorry and I shall therefore be looking into this further. Regardless, if this is the case then Admiral deserve to be outed as a company to avoid. Its daylight robbery at best in my opinion. Moral of the story - stay clear of Admiral and be selective with the truth as clearly they will find anything to scam more money from you. Needless to say I have given my business elsewhere and will never again deal with Admiral out of principle as principles matter when big corps are abusing the individual consumers. Proven good insurance

I had my car stolen only 1 week after joining admiral! They were very careful about asking questions which might allow them to avoid paying out, but I had no secrets. They said it would take 8 weeks to pay out they paid in 7 weeks. The claims procces was very clear and well organised. I have insured with them again. Reviewed on: 5th November 2022

Terrible service

Phone lines are understaffed. Online claims processing didn't work. When you get through to someone, they need to transfer you and put you on hold again. Also rediculously expensive. Reviewed on: 4th November 2022

Got charge a £25 cancellation fee, not impressed.

As I didn't renew with them I was charged a £25 cancellation fee! Really unimpressed, will go out of my way to never us Admiral Insurance again and will certainly tell friends and family about this ridiculous rule. Reviewed on: 4th November 2022

Really easy to sign up

Really easy to sign up, the app is really easy to navigate and when it came up to renewal they don’t hike up the price like others do! Will be staying with them for the foreseeable future as long as things stay as they are! Reviewed on: 29th October 2022
