Disappointing with Asda Credit Card Process

What a joke! I applied for an Asda credit card and received an email stating my application had been approved, asking me to log in and set up a direct debit. I tried several times, but it kept telling me I already had an account. After two months with no credit card, I contacted Asda to ask for an update. I was told I hadn’t set up the direct debit, and they gave me an email address to resolve the issue. It’s been five days, and they still haven’t read my email. So Asda Money, thank you but NO thanks. There's no one to talk to

I'm thinking about applying for the Asda credit card now that my John Lewis card is ending. I did the eligibility check and was provisionally offered an interest rate of 10 per cent more than I'm paying now and a credit limit that would barely cover one shopping trolley. The only way you can speak to Asda is through live chat on the card app but you can only get the app once you've got the card. There is no one to speak to or email. Reviewed on: 3rd October 2022

Their app is useless.

The app does not work. I've tried talking to them, and all I'm getting is talk and no action. Without a working app it's no better than a charge card. If I hear nothing more over the next few days it's off to the Ombudsman. A shame to see a respected name like Asda using such a shonky platform. Reviewed on: 27th September 2022

The card app keeps crashing

Creation Finance Suck

I opened my Asda CC account a few years back. I was delighted with the £5000 credit limit and the cash back. I used my card sensibly and paid off my balance monthly. When Asda offered a balance transfer deal I decided to transfer the balance from another card £500. Imagine my surprise when this was declined. I asked them to explain as I had my whole £5000 credit available. They refused to give me a reason, stating operational confidentiality. Well, I have now closed my account with them, citing operational confidentiality as the reason. I am now with Virgin and very happy. Reviewed on: 12th October 2020
