Used and ignored

My hubby had a credit card with Asda, always paid it off. But their particular scheme was ending so we let the card vlose. As he hardly used it. Well, the online only account moved to Santander, then out of the blue a bill arrived sanding a large sum. Couldn't get online to view statements anymore, call centre unhelpful and now this random balance amount has moved to a company called Newday who don't answer their phones quickly, when they do they pass you from pillar to post and still several years on we are trying to chase up what this mystery balance is for and how to close the account and get our money back they have taken which we do not owe! Fuming doesn't cut it! We've never had this before with a credit card, it's lovely they've been selling on a debt that shouldn't exist anyway and no one cares but we keep.payong a monthly amount to stop bailiffs being called to collect this none debt! I opened my Asda CC account a few years back. I was delighted with the £5000 credit limit and the cash back. I used my card sensibly and paid off my balance monthly. When Asda offered a balance transfer deal I decided to transfer the balance from another card £500. Imagine my surprise when this was declined. I asked them to explain as I had my whole £5000 credit available. They refused to give me a reason, stating operational confidentiality. Well, I have now closed my account with them, citing operational confidentiality as the reason. I am now with Virgin and very happy. Reviewed on: 12th October 2020

Cashback now hardly exists!

When I signed up for the Asda Money Card some years ago, the cashback was great... but within the last year or so, the rate has been reduced to 0.05%. I spend over £160 a week on average at Asda and over 52 weeks... that gets me roughly £90 cashback for Christmas! Nevertheless, it's still free money so I won't complain too much. Difficulty because house has 2 names

I was refused a credit card initially. On checking my credit report, I found I had applied in our actual address as 'cottage', they had the address as 'bungalow' so had rejected credit. All was sorted and we are now very pleased with this cashback credit card which we often use. Reviewed on: 19th April 2019

I have issues with contactless cards...my two banks happily changed mine to non contactless....BUT Creation(for ASDA) tell me they ONLY issue contactless !,....?? Reviewed on: 12th January 2019
