Horrible!

I never missed a payment on my credit card, always paying on time and more than the minimum amount. I was about £300 under my credit limit and tried making a £30 purchase using the card at my local Holland and Barrett. To my embarrassment, the sales assistant told me that my card had been refused, and that a note had popped up on their system asking them to call Barclaycard immediately. I was very confused at this point, but waited whilst the call was made. The girl then returned to me and explained that Barclaycard have refused the payment, but that she wasn't aware of why. Annoyed at this point, I asked for my card back and tried to leave the shop. The assistant told me that Barclaycard had instructed her to keep my card...!!!!! What?!?! I left the store, even MORE annoyed and confused and I called Barclaycard when I got home for an explanation. I was told a new card would be sent out. Fine. When the letter arrived, it said (without giving ANY reason at all) that Barclaycard were exercising their right to cancel my account with them and that I was to pay back all monies owed. So A company that I had been using, AND paying on time every month, took my card and closed my account without any explanation. Great company.... NOT!! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Barclaycard Platinum can't be used with Google Pay?

As the title suggests, I'm more than a little disappointed that this credit card can only be used with Apple Pay and not Google Pay. And then to add to my woes I discover that the Contactless Mobile facility of the Barclaycard app will cease to function at the end of June '23! DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING BARCLAYCARD

DO NOT TAKE OUT A CREDIT CARD WITH BARCLAYS. I TOOK OUT A CREDIT AS I WAS OFFERED 0% INTEREST RATE AS LONG AS I MAKE THE MINIMUM PAYMENT EACH MONTH. THE FIRST FEW MONTHS WAS FINE. I WAS NOT CHARGED ANYTHING, UNTILL ... THE CHAGED THE T&C WHEN I WAS -£3000. THEY BEGAN CHARGING ME £100 A MONTH INTEREST, AND THEY WAITED FOR MY CREDIT CARD TO BE MAXED OUT AS THEY CAN "UPDATE INTEREST CHARGE WITHOUT NOTICE" IM NOW RACING TO PAY THIS OFF AS £100 INTEREST A MONTH IS CRAZYYY. I'VE TRIED TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICR BUT NOBODY GETS BACK TO YOU. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE DO NOT BE TEMPTED BY THE 0% OFFER AS THEY CAN CHANGE THIS WITHOUT NOTICE, BARCLAYS BANK PRAY ON VUNERABLE PEOPLE. BE AWARE! Reviewed on: 27th May 2023

Easy and Simple
