What happened to this great institution?

Having banked with Barclays for 42 years , from a mere lad, they decided to close my account giving me one months notice. Once I got past the queue waiting to speak to a human, I asked for a balance and they couldnt give me a balance stating that the account was now closed. So what happened to my money? They then sid it was in a holding account and I should got my my nearest Barclays bank and withdraw my funds.....I live in NZ! The nearest Barclays Bank is 8000 miles away! Then the procedure to access my funds requires a lawyer to verify my identity which Barclays already know. Its just too hard to access MY money., so many hurdles in place. Barclays bank in york city center

I visited four times in this york city branch, but most staff when you enter are not polite at all ,they are not for the customers.... It's very sad and disgraceful, must to change to new staff who have a good manners.. Reviewed on: 9th October 2023

Taken my money for no reason and will not return. Please avoid this disgusting company.

Bank elsewhere!

Barclays makes banking an extremely difficult and frustrating process. I bank with a number of banks and I am never left feeling the level of frustration I do with Barclays. After of years of negative experiences I am finally closing my account. I’m not sure why I stuck with them for as long as I did. Reviewed on: 26th September 2023
