any company that uses the BofE rate reduction to drop interest rate by 1.05 % is economic vandalism, totally unnecessary.. Online saver should not have been discontinued for zero good reason.

the Bath has always been a good , fair society putting members interests first, unlike some competitiors. Now they have joined the list of greedy selfish societies, a bad reflection on current management. When will we see a reinstatement of the popular online saver, offering decent savings rates? Reply from Bath Building Society Thank you for your feedback. We deliberately discontinued the Online Saver account as part of a recent restructure of all our savings accounts. The reason we did this was that we do not believe it be fair to offer our best rates to a small number of our members who had the ability to access a channel that is not accessible to all. The result of this restructure was that over 70% of our members had an improved interest rate. All of our savings accounts can now be managed by whatever channel our customers choose be it in our branches/agencies by phone or via Bath Online. We now have a range of simple products with fair rates and I personally review these on a regular basis. If you do not need immediate access to your savings I am pleased to advise that this week we have increased the interest rate of our our 60 Day notice account from 0.60% to 0.80% AER. Great service, but interest rates plummeted...

It feels very personal. The phone is answered quickly, and questions are always answered. Obviously, though, the society need to offer a competitive interest rate! Reviewed on: 4th June 2020

Clearly you are disappointed about our rates but I truly believe that our rates are competitive but with the Bank of England base rate at an all time low of 0.10% it is difficult to offer rates that you are going to get excited about. I can however confirm that this week we have increased the rate on our 60 Day notice account from 0.60% to 0.80% and if you keep an eye on your inbox we have some attractive new savings accounts that we will be launching in the next few weeks. Customer service is excellent!

My company was a business customer with Bath Building Society. We initially became customers under difficult (external) circumstances, and although the staff may not have been best placed to help us initially, they listened and helped us to the best of their knowledge, in an area they wouldn't normally deal with. Our relationship manager Emma Seymour could not do enough to help us, was always professional, courteous, and a delight to work with, all of our queries were quickly and efficiently dealt with, and she would follow up with phone calls, to add that personal touch- which I feel is very important, it gave us great customer confidence knowing we had a trustworthy and helpful contact to return to. Useful local building society

We have been members of the Bath BS for many years and it has served us well . Reasonable interest rates for savers, lower expenses than larger societies. Reviewed on: 4th June 2020
