No loyalty benefits

I have had an HSBC Gold credit card for about 20 years. During this time I've always paid the balance as soon as I made a payment so I have never paid any interest on it. I used it mainly for over the phone purchases or high value spends like holidays. Despite being a loyal customer for so long I had never been offered any added incentives to use the card - no points, cashback or discounts for anything. For this reason I now prefer to use my Nationwide credit card and only use the HSBC one occasionally to avoid paying the non-usage fee. It has the highest credit limit of my three cards so I have maianly kept the account in case I need it in an emergency. I have no complaints about it though and as it is linked to my current account it is easy to check my balance when I do spend on it. Reviewed on: 20th June 2016

Can't see why people choose these

Credit card rates are all pretty similar. I got my credit card with HSBC as I have my bank account with them, but don't use it anymore as there are better cards out there - ones that offer good benefits like cashback or points for airlines...look around. Reviewed on: 20th July 2015

I have had no problems with HSBC.

I have a credit card account with HSBC for Best Buy store credit card. While I have nothing exceptional to say because I have not had any issues, but I have no complaints either. I have been pleased with the card so far, no issues is a good thing! Reviewed on: 17th April 2015

Pretty Standard Credit Card

This credit card is pretty standard, nothing to brag about. The cash rewards are a decent rate, but they're a pain to redeem. You have to go online and order your reward. They have non-cash gift rewards as well (which is why you have to request them), but there aren't any gift/travel rewards that are better than cash. Reviewed on: 14th April 2015

It does what it sayd

Its a credit card from a bank not super but not awful either. The Interest rate is high in my opinion. I do not shop around for free balance transfers deals and have all my financial service products with HSBC which is my downfall. I recently tried adding my wife to the card and it was a nightmare. I was told 4 times her signature did not match what they held on the system. I gave up in the end, I am looking into opening another card with the Post office as it offers a free balance transfer and I can then look to repay the balance as well as enabling myself and my wife to each have a card in case we need it.
