Santander 123 Current Account (discontinued) reviews (1265)

Great if you like looking at your money, and safer than keeping it in a box under the bed.

Recently retired, I have a few thousand pounds from my lump sum left. I get better interest in my 123 current account than I could get anywhere else, and I do enjoy just looking at it every time I check online! I can easily check back to see if I'm saving or spending compared to the same day last month. Responses to online questions are prompt and helpful. It would be even better with a tool to categorise my spending and income though, so I could see where my money goes each month, and compare to other months. Reviewed on: 21st November 2015

Good cashback for household bills

I love that we can get cashback for our usual household bills. It does make a difference! Reviewed on: 21st November 2015

Good account with good benefits

The 123 account has been a stand-out product for a long time since 2008. The benefits have been valuable and consistent though the increased charge to £5 erodes some of that. Would happily recommend to those with large current account balances or reasons to keep £20k in cash. Reviewed on: 20th November 2015

Fantastic bank account

Fantastic bank account which rewards you with cash back for paying your everyday bills by direct debit. If like myself you pay everything including all mobile phone bills by direct debit the cash back is quite a welcome monthly bonus Reviewed on: 7th November 2015

Still a good account

Still a great current account but the fee increase is making me think again. Reviewed on: 8th October 2015

Outrageous hike

Despite a stunning and outrageous price hike I'm awarding santanders 123 account a 3 star rating as in all fairness it is a good account. That said, I'm disappointed that the hike hasn't been accompanied by more benefits. Reviewed on: 24th September 2015

Thinking of switching

I only switched to the 123 account a few months due to all the good stuff I was hearing about it. I was a bit shocked to hear that the monthly fee is going to be increased to 5 pounds a month. Spending £60 a year on this account means that IT doesn't really work for me. Looking for better options. Reviewed on: 16th September 2015

A very good bank account with a very considerate bank.

I'm have had a Sandanter 123 current account for some years now and would line to highly recommend it to others. For every direct debit you sign up to from your account you are rewarded with interest. Santander have a very easy to use calculator on their 123 account site. For direct debits on household expenditure you can earn between 1 and 3 percent, which is added to your account monthly. For account balances of beteern £1000 and £2000 you can earn between 1 and 2%, for balances of between £3,000 and £20,000 you can earn 3%. In my opinion this is a very good deal, with interest rates so low at the moment. There is a charge of £2 per month for this account which is more than offset with all the interest which is available. The interest rates are current as at 1st September, 2015. I would also like to say that I have no affiliation to Santander and this is my honest opinion. Reviewed on: 1st September 2015

Brilliant bank and very quick and easy to set up an account

I changed my bank account from Natwest to Santander as they offer 3% on their 123 account. It was so easy to switch and the customer service was quick and helpful. I have since moved my ISA to Santander as well as I like the ease of their online banking. Reviewed on: 31st August 2015
