With a Capital Credit Union loan, members can borrow from £50 up to £35,000.

All members must save at least £15 per month alongside the loan to help build up a nest egg. Capital Credit Union loans come with free loan protection insurance and flexible repayments with terms of up to ten years.

Help Was There When It Was Needed Most

This was some time ago, but I had just bought a house one year after starting a new job (where I am still employed after two decades). A work colleague suggested I open a savings account with Capital Credit Union. I did (barely able to afford to save anything in those days) but more importantly when old household appliances began to break and needed replaced I was out of options: the high street banks weren't interested as I didn't earn a lot back then even though I had a permanent, secure job, and the tiny amounts I was able to save each month meant it would literally take years to save up for these items (one item was a new washing machine, so going for years without one was not an option!). Repayments on store or credit cards would have been more than I could afford to repay each month due to the high levels of interest. So I applied to Capital Credit Union who were happy to help and provided me an affordable loan. It was then I encouraged family members to become Capital Credit Union members too. Two decades later I'm still a member saving each month. I haven't applied for a loan in many years as I have been promoted a few times at my work and life is much more comfortable now. But the important point is: I am happy to be a member of an organisation which today will be offering help to those who are unable to receive it elsewhere, people who are in the situation now where I was when I was starting out. I am proud to support such an organisation as this which was there to give me help when it was needed most. Reviewed on: 14th April 2025

Supportive and patient staff

I have felt supported whilst going through the process of applying and being accepted. The staff have always been friendly and understanding of my difficulties, so have been very patient with me.
