Conned

Was told that I should get track box for my daughters car as it would reduce her insurance. The quote came back for renewal at £114 more when I asked why,I was told it was because my daughter had gone out in the eve. Again I said that does not reflect on her driving ability which I was led to believe the box tracked not areas and curfews. To which I was told you got a booklet explaining and I should have read it. We actually had no book a device with no instructions a web address to download the app. I think it's appalling that we were conned like this. We did not renew. And I also am insured with them till December and I will not renew. Reviewed on: 21st April 2017

Rubbish company

Accusing me of having an accident with one of their clients when I did not own the car and had sold it three days before the incident and had never been in that area their client said I was a man and I am a female what a joke of a company they are trying to take me to court I feal totally persecuted umpteen phone calls later after rude staff couldn't sort it out I think I should be compensated for all the stress they have caused me but someone who works for them tod me I should be so lucky so be warned Reviewed on: 23rd February 2017

Don't ever buy Churchill car insurance!

I have just received all the paperwork for my new car insurance with them and noticed that by mistake I ticked the box that says I am a homeowner (I wish but that will probably not happen any time soon). I called Churchill to correct that detail and was told that I will now be charged £117 more, which is over 25% of what I have already paid! Such a discrimination for people that are not homeowners! It is despicable especially looking at the housing crisis these days! And I already get higher quotes for not being married! Outrageous! Reviewed on: 16th February 2017

I have renewed my car insurance with Churchill for the last 3 years. Always one of the cheapest yet most secure insurance policies. Paperwork has been prompt and staff always easily accessible and efficient. Reviewed on: 25th January 2017

DO NOT USE!

I went with Churchill as it is an established company and I have had a positive experience in the past, so I dint mind paying a bit more than the other company quotes. Unfortunately this is no longer the case I have sold my car and wish to cancel my policy. I understand that there will be a small fee for this mid year but at £56.50 nearly 2 months instalments, I was informed over the phone it would be a lot less. In addition the customer services were condescending and fake friendly. Reviewed on: 17th November 2016

SHOCKING DO NOT USE!!

***WORTH READING*** After uploading my NCD certificate into the Churchill customer portal and been accepted I obtain my insurance certificate and all is well, or is it......... A few weeks after taking out my policy I receive a letter advising I owe money to Churchill for an overlap on my NCD against another vehicle. I question why I would pay this £42 charge when my NCD certificate was accepted and money taken from my account, for the new policy no response from Churchill. I then receive a second letter advising Churchill can no longer insure me past August 2017. Ok no issue I will go hunting for a better deal next year. Still they take payments from my account. A week passes by and then I receive a letter (back dated) advising me I am no longer insured on my vehicle and my policy is void. To put it into context I had been driving nearly a week completely oblivious I was uninsured because Churchill decided to cancel my insurance policy without any notification other than a letter advising my policy would end in August 2017. What started as a small discrepancy about a fee surrounding my NCD has now quickly escalated into a potential small claims for Churchill as I've taken it to a lawyer to deal with. Churchill kept all of the money I paid for my policy, have taken no responsibility for their admin faults, I've had to take out a brand new policy with another provider and to compound how bad Churchill are they then charged me an extra fee because somehow their issue is my fault and their customer services team have gone into hiding as no one their has the decency to do the right thing and call an ex customer to smooth it over and accept liability. An abysmal company with zero morals, no customer care and no responsibility to their customers or other road users. I would hate to think what would have happened if I had crashed Churchill. I had a near miss accident which caused the third party to hit the curb. My no claims discount was affected on renewal. However the third party failed to make a claim and Churchill reinstated my no claims discount and refunded me the increase in my premium automatically Reviewed on: 22nd October 2016
