Guisborough branch.

I use the Guisborough branch and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. They always make you aware about your accounts and if you would be better off moving your money to an account with better interest rates or more suited to your needs. Reviewed on: 29th January 2026

Annual Savings review

Have an Annual Savings review - always found Darlington Building Society staff to be very helpful with renewing ISA's and other savings accounts. Reviewed on: 29th January 2026

When things are going well, they are fine, BUT

When things are going well, they are fine. However, when there is a problem, they are poor at communicating with customers. For example, there was a recent problem with interest payments on regular savings accounts which took 3 weeks to resolve. The home screen showed a message that the problem would be resolved “shortly”. Also, the next interest payment date for regular savings accounts is wrong and remains wrong. Overall great customer service.

I rang as I never received a confirmation email of my account that I set up online. In particular Simon McCabe (Customer Contact Administrator) was very helpful and informative in advising me on my account and how I could get funds in to my account. Very easy to contact a person by telephone which is just great! Reviewed on: 27th January 2026
