Top class service

Recently had a serious car accident and can only praise the service from Direct Line so far. Everything is organised, communicated and efficient between customers and their different departments and partners. So glad I didn't change companies for the sake of saving a few pounds. Complete waste of money

Basically a few days after I purchased my car it was hit by a pedestrian who was drunk and damaged the door leaving a big dent and scratch. Direct Line were particularly unhelpful and the claim dragged on for 2.5 years. During that time I was made to pay extra for my car insurance as I had 'lost' my no claims bonus. I eventually got sick of waiting for a resolution and cancelled the claim. So not only was I out of pocket but still had a damaged car. Reviewed on: 11th September 2017

Direct line seamed perfect when I first took car insurance out with them, cheep and a friendly service... that was until I changed my car. After insuring my car for 7 months with direct line I decided to change my car from a Peugeot 206 (1.4) to a Volkswagen polo (1.2)... To change my car through direct line insurance cost me £3000.00 for 3 months! (Which i had to pay as I'm a young driver so keeping my no claims was a huge importance.) It cost me only £700.00 to insure my polo with LV for a whole year..... Only to find out my father had a similar experience with Direct line too, but on his house insurance.
