Excellent, efficient, trustworthy and friendly

I've been with GWCU for years, both for savings and loans. Always had an excellent, friendly and helpful experience with them. They are trustworthy, very efficient and go above and beyond to help. Their interest rates in loans are fair and interest on savings is good. I would highly recommend them to friends and family. Reviewed on: 30th May 2025

I have been with them for many year's, the staff are very friendly and very helpful, if you need a loan they cater for your need's and talk to you about thing's to make sure you can afford it, the team are alway's on hand if you are having problem's or need to talk or need help not like bank's and you get personal care and get to know the people you are talking to ............ thankyou Reviewed on: 25th June 2021

Simple, friendly, customer focused

I received a warm welcome when I visited the Bristol branch. They are so helpful. This credit union provided interest free loan for NHS front line workers for the appreciation of their great job in the pandemic situation. We are the benefactors of this unique service. Best lenders I've used

Down to earth approach with geniune care for the community

The office branch of Great Western Credit is just by my doorstep. It looks approachable and professional. I have recently applied loan from them without going into the office and the process is also swift and easy. Lenders use incorrect information

Lenders use incorrect information on your credit score, one time they will accept you with debt on credit score another time they won’t accept you because of debt on credit score and use incorrect information, been with them 2 years always paid on time, and the way they handled it with me affected my mental health a lot so no I would not recommend them to anyone. Compassion in money matters

I was naturally anxious when first contacting GWCU but right from the moment my call was answered I breathed a sigh of relief. My request was treated with compassion, understanding & respect. Followed up over the coming days with total efficiency & all was fully explained in relatable terms no confusing jargon. Since that initial call whenever I have had any questions I’ve always been treated well. Their online presence is excellent and easy to navigate giving peace of mind 24/7.
