Cut rewards

It was amazing, when you got £5 per month if you spent £300...that was easy if you spent on normal household shopping and fuel. But they stopped that earlier this year, so it's now just okay - no exorbitant charges when shopping abroad. Reviewed on: 29th November 2016

Good cashback

Still the best card for European holidays

The Halifax Clarity Credit Card is still one of the best cards to use abroad. We use it for everyday spending in the UK and abroad, and also for cash withdrawals in Europe. It gives a good exchange rate, and we always transfer money across to cover the cash withdrawal, so it doesn't accrue much interest. You must always ALWAYS pay it off in full though. It also pays £5 cashback per month if spending £300 or more in a month. Reviewed on: 21st November 2016

Not sure

I ordered one of these for a recent holiday to Italy. Very annoyed to find it didn't work in any shops, restaurants etc but accepted every time at an ATM. I then discovered interest is charged immediately for ATM withdrawals but not purchases. I wonder..................... Reviewed on: 30th October 2016

Just a warning

I used a Clarity card for my trips abroad twice a year and was very impressed with the exchange rates with no conversion charges. However, I decided to close this account (and cheque account) and instead opted for a card that would give me some Cashback. AFter an unsatisfactory experience (since resolved) I decided to go back to Halifax Clarity and was astounded that I was declined. This is despite paying off any balance in full every time by direct debit and can only assume that the "computer" that dealt with my online application didn't like the fact that I had also applied and been accepted for a rival card! Brilliant Credit Card For Spending Abroad

I've used the Halifax Clarity Credit Card twice now whilst abroad. It has a great exchange rate - better than exchanging into cash. I would highly recommend. Reviewed on: 29th June 2016
