Very helpful on the phone when setting up an online...

Very helpful on the phone when setting up an online account. Not so helpful when I needed to sort out LPOA for my father who had dementia. My father had accounts with lots of different financial organisations, who all had pretty much the same policies regarding LPOA (LPoA + my proof of ID) and I could act on his behalf. However, the staff at Newcastle under Lyme branch, had me going back to branch over and again and insisted that I get my dad, who wad at the very advanced stages of dementia, to sign a document giving me permission to act on his behalf. The staff kept explaining to me that they had protect my father. They weren't interested in anything I had to say, even though it's clear I was the only one who knew what I was talking about. I went along with whatever they asked me to do and moved his funds to another one of his accounts. I really didn't want experience that kind of hassle in the future, after his death.
