Review of the Laka, Cycle insurance:

Unbelievably good service, especially when I had a claim - They paid the same day!

I have only been a Laka customer for about 4 months and even though July is their ‘peak’ month for claims, I have still only paid about £16 to date. On top of this, while cycling in Italy last week I had an incident with my Garmin cycling computer. The clamp holding it to my bike broke mid-ride at about 40 km/h and the Garmin flew off my handlebars and smashed on the road. I immediately emailed Laka and although I initially had a little trouble with the website, they jumped into action to help process my claim and it was easy to upload a video statement of what happened and a picture of my broken Garmin. They could not have been more helpful. What really blows me away is that the next day I went to a local store in Italy to buy a replacement Garmin and Laka immediately repaid me and had the money back in my bank account by the time I went to bed that evening. I have never known an insurance company to be this helpful or pay out this quickly. A huge thanks and Laka have a customer for life! I would highly recommend Laka! Reviewed on: 5th September 2018

Great, customer service. No fuss solution.

Had to make a claim. It was sorted with just a few phone calls and a couple photos of the damage. Replacement frame was shipped direct to my bike shop of choice for my components to be strip and my new bike to be rebuilt. Reviewed on: 6th October 2025

Such a pain free claim experience

I’ve been insured by Laka for years but only recently needed to claim. It was so easy. No hassle, no questions, I just shared my crime number and had the money in a couple of hours. you don’t really find out how good your insurer is until you need to claim, and a huge proportion of people change insurers after claiming, but I’m very happy to stay with Laka Reviewed on: 6th October 2025
