Great for those who want Disney plus

I have been with Lloyds for many years as they were the first bank I ever had an account with, and I like the way the club lloyds account gives you a free bonus like disney plus, magazine subscription or movie/coffee discounts. I initially had the magazines but then changed to Disney Plus, as I would otherwise never pay for streaming channels other than just Amazon, so it is a good way to get an extra one for free. Th customer service of Lloyds have always been great, whenever I had issues they were very good, and also they are one of the few high street banks with branches around, plus a coffee shop inside their Manchester branch. The interest rate on the Club Lloyds is not as great as other banks, but I find that it is still one of the best high street bank package accounts. Another thing is the app interface is very easy to use with a lot of features, they also recently updated the UI and out of my banking apps, it is my favourite one. Reviewed on: 28th November 2024

Current account opened then CLOSED!

I tried to open a current account online to take advantage of the offer of extra cash to use the current account switiching service. All seemed to go well and I got a number of emails welcoming me to the bank etc etc, then out of the blue a text message saying I had to go into the branch with my passport to confirm my identity. Currently living in Spain for the winter so couldnt do it. So incredibly unhelpful when I foolishly tried to tell them using their chat service as I dont like using the phone. Went from one 'chatbot' to another, no help at all. I kept asking to talk online to a real human but I dont think they have them, although their bots all had solid british names of course. Total rubbish. Appalling customer service. Then had text message to say they had closed the account!! Tried to get through to them using the bots again to ask why. Ha ha, no joy of course but I am concerned they may have put a note on my credit file in which case I shall be livid. Still getting jolly emails about how pleased they are I have joined!! Have never had anything like this before. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN NEW ACCOUNT WITH THIS SHOWER. HOPELESS. I am still furious with them. No wonder they are offering the biggest bribe at the moment. I notice that the reading of one’s bank account is so much clearer now and in much bolder letters which is very helpful for an elderly person like myself with poor eyesight.
