Amazing customer service

When we took out a mortgage with the Mansfield we had been experiencing difficulties obtaining a mortgage because of our age, even though this should not have been a factor. The Mansfield were superb, offering us a good mortgage rate and thet have looked after us from start to finish. We have now redeemed our mortgage having made all of the paymentsand would never hesitate to recommend. Reviewed on: 13th July 2021

Shockingly poor communication

A company willing to look beyond the conventional

Mansfield had the foresight to recognise that being a first time buyer who is also retired, my income is guaranteed for life and will increase every year. This being the case, I’m a lesser risk than a young couple. Reviewed on: 17th June 2021

Fine to deal with but very expensive to borrow from

My overall feelings from my interactions with Mansfield are positive, and I used them to finance a self build project. However I feel this is a rather uncompetitive market and did not feel I got good value from them. I hope that more lenders come into the market in the future as this is a real barrier to step-changing the self build market. Reviewed on: 15th June 2021

An absolute shambles

We've just completed on the purchase of a property with the Mansfield and it was the worst experience I've had with a lender by a long way. The the process was extremely difficult and you seemed to be putting up obstacles all the way through, with the chain almost breaking down a number of times due to the lack of urgency and inefficiencies at the Mansfield. There were many examples, but these included, losing our application form, asking for bank statements which you already had, not returning calls or being able to transfer calls to the relevant person who could deal with a query, asking for information which was not relevant to the application (such as EPC's on other buy to let properties), rejecting an employment reference because I was copied in on the email from the HR dept, increasing the deposit required, losing our direct debit form so the first payment wasn't taken and generally being pedantic and petty. If you want to lend, I think you need to step back, review your processes and improve the customer experience significantly. Otherwise, you should just say they don't want to lend at the start of the process and save your customers a great deal of stress. Reviewed on: 6th June 2021

First Time Buyers

We were a slightly trickier case but Mansfield handled our case with a human approach and were able to offer us a mortgage. Thanks to Mansfield we have just exchanged contracts on our first home and we are beyond grateful and excited! I also follow Mansfield on Facebook and I love what they do for their community and customers. I just love everything that they stand for! Thank you Mansfield for making our dreams come true.
