Great company

We had a really hard time getting a mortgage as first time buyers. Mansfield took the risk of taking us on and for that we thank them. Only reason for leaving is because we managed to secure a better deal 2 years later. Reviewed on: 13th April 2021

Excellent from start to finish

The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. MBS literature and correspondence was clear and precise showing monthly and yearly payments and early settlement options. Reviewed on: 13th April 2021

Service in adversity

Of course we had the most severe wave of COVID infections going on while we were trying to get the mortgage arranged. In spite of this we managed it in time and we are very pleased with the result, Many thanks to everyone involved from Mansfield BS. Reviewed on: 31st March 2021

Generally good, but could do much better.

Very friendly and efficient staff (once the initial purchase had gone through). The process to obtain the mortgage was tortuous - there was a minor amendment required to the lease (4 pages), and the Society's legal team took about 10 days to turn it round before the mortgage could be approved. Had I been able to switch lenders I would have done so. Also, the fixed rates were very high. Reviewed on: 3rd March 2021

Excellent mortgage advisors and customer service

The mortgage advisors are great, offering a great service and follow up. I think some of the mortgage offer requirements for my solicitor seemed excessive but overall I would recommend. Not the most competitive in terms of rates but you actually deal with real human beings who are compassionate and effective. Reviewed on: 18th February 2021

Mortgage for purchase of land and self build

I am delighted that I have been offered a mortgage by Mansfield. It has taken a long time, 5 months to secure but I fully understand the reasons why (COVID 19) and lending conditions changed but I was thrilled when the offer was confirmed and the funds were released to my solicitor on the day requested. Good overall service and products

Mansfield have provided a good level of service throughout the mortgage and I was able to re-mortgage a number of times with Mansfield to take advantage of cheaper deals. Whenever I had a need to speak to someone they have always been very helpful. The one downside that I have had was when I paid a lump sum that took me below the threshold for getting a new deal and I was then stuck on SVR for a few years. Mansfield need to make their mortgage offers available to all customers regardless of the amount of outstanding. Reviewed on: 4th February 2021
