To open an account via your app, I had to lie!

To open an account via your app, I had to lie! I had to select a nationality from a pre-determined list. The nearest I could find was United Kingdom. This is not a nationality. My nationality is British. Please check any British passport to confirm this. Similarly for place of birth. I selected United Kingdom. This isn't true, but my actual place of birth (Guernsey) was not a permitted entry. As I trust you are aware, the Channel Islands are not, and never have been, part of the UK. Please update your procedures. (For the record, I have lived in the UK - on the mainland, as we Channel Islanders say - for over half a century, but that doesn't change my place of birth.) Monmouthshire app incompatible with Mac

My star rating may seem odd. On my iPad I can access my account but cannot complete forms to transfer savings. I got help from Sofia Swaine who was extremely helpful but I could not complete forms to begin an internal transfer. Following her advice I used my MAC to download and fill out forms. My Mac says your site is Jailbreaked and is incompatible with your site. Will have to get forms posted. This is very frustrating. Reviewed on: 30th July 2026

ISA Meeting - Monmouth Branch 14:30 10th July 2026

I'd spoken with Ginny and booked a mtg. at the Monmouth Branch to discuss potential ISA products and options. I was warmly welcomed upon arrival by Nicky, Mandy & Ginny, something that put me at ease and ready for the mtg. Mandy took me to an office for our mtg and we covered ISA options, pro's and cons and how Monmouthshire Bldg Soc operates in that product space. Following our mtg i'm better informed, confident in the potential benefits and likely to proceed with a Monmouthshire Bldg Soc ISA. The welcome. knowledge and excellent customer focused approach of staff at the Monmouth branch is very much appreciated. Whilst we have a mortgage with the Monmouthshire Bldg Soc. i look forward to adding ISA product/s in future. Not a rational approach to business.

Dear Mr William Carroll, It now seems that Monmouthshire Building Society is no longer a customer centric Building Society. My wife and I have been regular savers with Monmouthshire Building Society over several years currently holding several savings accounts but NO MORE. It seems according to your staff unless you save through your new APP you can no longer open a savings account other than visiting a Branch. So, if you are elderly, like us 78 years of age, live the other side of the country and do not want to save via an App we will be looking elsewhere with one of their competitors who will no doubt welcome our business.
