Monzo - Simplifying Banking

I have been a Monzo customer since their beta days, so have seen the progress they have made. Their current account has always impressed me with its user-friendly app and modern features. The seamless integration of technology into traditional banking services makes managing finances a breeze - looking at you Open Banking, virtual cards, credit score etc. Monzo has streamlined everyday transactions. Transparent fee structures, reliable customer service via in-app chat (I've ever had a bad experience), and robust fraud prevention further contribute to a positive banking experience. While some people may find Monzo lacking physical branches to be a negative, the convenience and innovation offered by Monzo make it a standout choice for a hassle-free and modern banking solution. A seamless experience

I've been with a few banks over the years, but Monzo come out on top for each category I'd expect from a bank. Their app is by far the best, and since the recent overhaul of the app it's only gotten better, with new features working great, and the engagement from Monzo staff on their forum is excellent. Home screen allows me to see a snapshot of my finances, and I can then drill into more detail with just a tap if I need to. Pots are incredibly useful, not sure how I managed without them before. Flex is great, easy to understand. Trends is amazing, we're already saving money from using the categorisation, and the targets feature has really helped us cut back to save money; so far this month we're spending 49% less than last month! Customer of many years, never had an issue

Been a customer of monzo for many years and seen them expand much further than other fintech banks and emoney providers over recent years. the product ticks almost every box I couldn’t need from a bank, just a bit of a shame that the open banking and virtual cards come with a monthly fee, whereas other banks and providers offer them for free. I absolutely LOVE Monzo

I absolutely LOVE using Monzo and have been now for many years - creating pots helps me to manage my money better, it's really easy to split and send/receive money with other Monzo users, and I love the simplicity of the design. The only downfall I've experienced so far (unfortunately) is not so great Customer Service via the app - in certain cases they haven't been very helpful at all and sometimes you'll type a message, it will say '[name]' is going to assist you and then you don't get a response from them so have to send another message. It's surprising that a company with such a great rep on LinkedIn and other socials does not have the most friendly or helpful Customer Service team. Reviewed on: 15th January 2024
