The 0% interest also applies to spending abroad. You can apply if you have a Nationwide current account, savings account or mortgage. You can’t apply if you already have a Nationwide credit card.

Travelling in Europe

I use my Nationwide credit card when travelling in Europe as there is no charge for using it to buy goods or services, unlike with the other credit card I use. It also means the cost of what I bought abroad is separated from my normal expenditure. Reviewed on: 2nd April 2025

Always deal with issues promptly

Nationwide have always dealt efficiently with any fraudulent transactions using lost/stolen credit cards. Frontline and telephone staff helpful and knowledgeable. Great Card

We use our credit card to pay for most things and then pay off the balance in full at the end of the month, this means there is no extra to pay back but we get cash back which over the course of the year ends up being around £75. It is a great card to use abroad as well. Reviewed on: 6th November 2017

Quick to solve any issues and quickly onto fraudulent activity

My experience of having a nationwide credit card is that they are quick to solve any issues and quickly onto fraudulent activity, sending out new cards speedily. Reviewed on: 11th June 2017

Select Credit Card

Free to use in any country (no commission), easy t o use mobile banking app, and 0.5% cashback on sterling purchases. Using this instead of my debit card is a no brainer, and pay it off every month to prevent incurring interest. Reviewed on: 11th June 2017

Excellent Credit Card

As an existing Nationwide customer the application process was very easy. The cards arrived within a few days and included an interest free period and a fee free balance transfer. I even received a bonus for taking the card out. Reviewed on: 11th June 2017
