On on completion day there were problems...

On completion day, additional documents were needed from our conveyancer although we received a welcome email the day before telling us everything was ready. Completion was delayed by 1.5 hours and it was a very stressful time. The sellers up the chain were threatening to charge us interest. Newbury need to make sure that everything is in place for the loan before completion day. This has knocked our confidence Reviewed on: 14th February 2025

Completion delay

Good up to completion. New compliance officer demanded additional paperwork delaying the completion. Very stressful and should not have happened. Reviewed on: 14th February 2025

Staff at the building society responded quickly.

Staff at the building society responded quickly and helpfully throughout the entire process. We were working within strict time constraints on the purchase of a property and staff kept us fully informed of progress at all stages which took the pressure off from what can be a stressful experience when it is not something you do every day.
