Easy to deal with and great customer service !!

We have received great customer service throughout our transaction to buy our new home. Considering we had gone through 3 mortgage applications with them as the vendors of the properties we were trying to buy pulled out twice !! Each application was delt with swiftly and professionally !!!! The best thing was if you had a query you could speak directly to a REAL person who was able to help and called back when they said !!!! A very refreshing change in these days of an online world !!!! Keep up the great work Newbury Building society!! Reviewed on: 30th November 2022

NBS is built on employees who understand the companies products and systems which enables them to match you with the best fit products and explain the reasoning why (in terms I understand!). With this in mind its not a surprise that in over 25 years of using NBS I keep coming into contact with the same efficient staff just doing different roles. Reviewed on: 27th November 2022

Not a very happy ending

We had a mortgage with Newbury Building Society for 11 years. Never had any issues during that period. My husband was made redundant earlier in the year and we approached you to swap our mortgage to interest only for 3 months whilst my husband started his own business and we were told that we would have to use his redundancy payout and savings before you would help us. We had made it clear that my husband’s redundancy was being used to set up his business. My husband previously worked with a colleague who also had a mortgage with you. He had financial difficulties and had missed over 3 years of payments and you fell over backwards to help him. Consequently we settled our mortgage with you and wouldn’t recommend you. When we requested a settlement figure someone contacted us to ask if you could help in anyway and we told you we had already asked for help and to be honest you weren’t interested. Incredibly helpful and reassuring!

I had a mortgage review with Eve McDowell as my fixed term mortgage with Newbury is coming to an end in a few months and I wanted to know my options. Eve was not only incredibly friendly but came prepared with all of my current details and after reviewing a number of questions, was able to walk me through a few options available to me. In such scary financial times, it's great to have someone take the time to truly understand your circumstances and give you options. Eve is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and also covered off questions I had around moving before the end of my term and over-paying. I'd 100% recommend. Reviewed on: 23rd November 2022

A true keystone to my mortgage

I must say what a rock the Newbury Building Society has been over the last 25years for me. Having just made my final mortgage repayment I wish to thank them for their compassion and understanding during the heartbreak of losing a grandson and struggling with finances during that time. Not only were they understanding but also very professional in providing a solution which I could realistically afford and the icing on the cake was the delightful surprise of a Beautiful hamper delivered to my door ! Very helpful and timely service.
