Really friendly, helpful staff and also easy to add funds by internet as well.

I met staff of Newbury Building Society at Abingdon Air Show and liked the sound of the account which I subsequently opened in branch. The service I received in branch was very good and the whole process was very smooth. Since then I have used internet access which again is very user-friendly (I'm not computer-savvy, so need simple systems!). Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

A very pleasant and informative financial experience

I have passed the doors of Newbury Building Society many times over the 25 or so years I have lived in Newbury and never entered. Whilst reading the financial press in a nearby coffee shop, I was spurred into action to seek advice on a particular product I was interested in, a Children's ISA for our new grandchild. Of course, I could of looked a product up on line, but as I was near by the Newbury Building Society, I decided I would drop in and seek advice or at least some literature. As I entered the store, i was immediately greeted by Meredith, who listened intently to my initial request and then produced a simple piece of literature that covered the various savings products, it then became apparent that I could benefit from more than one of the savings products on offer, compared to that available from the other two banks I am with, particularly with regard to savings rates. I was then expertly passed over to a colleague of Meredith's, Rachel Hawkins who again took me through in detail the two products that seemed particularly suited to my requirements and I went ahead and set up the two accounts. Good and helpful experience by your friendly people

i went into the Newbury branch of the society initially to update something that was well overdue and that was to change my address on 2 accounts that i have had for years, also to update my books for the last three years interest. Your staff were so friendly and helpful. The lady pointed out to me that one of the accounts was a square deal isa and if i made my pound balance unto and over 50 pounds i could achieve one of your societies best interest rates. She also asked if there was anything you could do for me, i said having just got my pension i was looking for an account that would give monthly interest, she pointed me to your senior saver i went to Wetherspoons and pondered on it over breakfast. Great experience

It was welcoming from the start to the end. We were actively encouraged to participate in selecting and opening our account. I was surprised to see chairs at a counter, the first time I had saw that. Reviewed on: 9th May 2023

Too slow and complicated

It took me three weeks to open an online savings account with many different things to do to finally be able to transfer money. Far too complicated compared to other other savings options elsewhere. Reviewed on: 7th May 2023

Very Satisfied

Friendly staff member who opened our account(s). Holly is very knowledgeable regarding all the types of accounts and information she gave. Explained how long the whole process would take..
